Curry Health Foundation, President

“The greatest gift we can offer is the gift of our time & compassion;”

I am thankful every day that my mother introduced me to volunteering at an early age. The lessons I learned, and experiences I had, set a definite life profile for giving back and contributing to the communities where I reside.

I spent 45 years working in the technology industry moving through a variety of roles. Along the way, I picked up skills including planning, negotiation, management, and other important leadership tools that I bring to this position.

In 2010 I retired for the 1st time, took up golf, and found myself migrating to a role as a coordinator of volunteers at American Golf’s nine Northern CA golf courses.  During the 5 years in this position, our volunteer teams raised approximately $500,000 in support of UCSF Childhood Cancer research and funding for the “Family House” in San Francisco. Moving on, my volunteer activity at O’Connor Hospital resulted in full time employment managing their Volunteer Program that included adults, college, and high school students in a variety of roles throughout the hospital. I was also involved in the CA Hospital Volunteer Leadership team.

In 2018 I retired again, we sold our home in CA and moved to Pistol River, Oregon. Since then, I have been involved in offering my services to Wild Rivers Animal Shelter, the Pistol River Friendship Club, Master Gardeners, and of course the Curry Health Foundation.
Retirement is different for everyone.  But for me, giving the gift of my time and compassion will always be a part of my life.
