Mary and her husband, Les, a custom guitar builder, reside in Pistol River. They raised their two daughters, Laura and Jennifer, in Gold Beach, where the girls attended local schools and graduated from college with honors. Laura, their eldest, is an RN at Curry Health District and has two sons, Dylan and Kyler. Jennifer, known as Jen, is a Wildland Firefighter who spends her winter months volunteering with Reach Out Worldwide. Both daughters also volunteer with the local Search and Rescue Organization.

A dedicated community member, Mary is an active participant in the Rotary Club of Gold
Beach and currently serves on the board of directors. Her community involvement extends further, having been an elected member of both the Central Curry School District and the Curry Health District Board. Mary and Les also co-founded the Pistol River Concert Association, which has been bringing quality music to the local community for over 30 years and is the current President of the Pistol River Friendship Club.

Before embarking on her career as a Realtor with Century 21 Agate Realty in Gold Beach, Mary spent 12 years with the US Forest Service.  One of Mary’s favorite quotes is;

“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.”
